WINTER FLORAL ROUNDUP!
As the temperatures and snow continue to fall, we’re loving winter for its charming and diverse floral arrangements. Yes, floral and winter can and do work together! From dahlias to roses to tulips and wintery greens, floral arrangements in the months of December through March don’t need to reflect the sluggish and inter feel that the season can sometimes bring us. To lift our spirits and to keep you updated on the latest seasonal trends, we asked our pros about their favorite winter floral for 2018.
- Dark and Moody
Think the Edgar Allan Poe of floral- dahlias, dark centered anemones, purple privet berries, deep velvet roses and chocolate lace flowers. Dark and moody floral arrangements are stunning in the winter with their deep shades of red, purple and accents of white. While the freezing temperatures remain outside, dark colors can create a warm and cozier atmosphere inside for you and your guests.
- Pure White with Seasonal Accents
On the reverse side of dark and moody floral is something much lighter. Pure white tulips and roses mixed with a variety of seasonal evergreens and berries, like brunia with fruits such as dates and figs, can be perfect for capturing and reflecting what you may see outside your window on a snowy day. Combinations like these add a contrasting seasonal whimsy to your winter event!
- Non-Traditional Evergreen
It’s difficult to steer clear of the winter greens, so embrace it and the put your own twist on it. Picture a wreath made of magnolia grandiflora accenting an arrangement of pine or filling a cast-iron urn for a larger piece of décor, perhaps near an entrance way, stage, or specialty tables. Magnolia grandiflora is a different but great seasonal option when it comes to floral.
