5 FLOATING CANDLE TRENDS FOR A MAGICAL EVENING
Once the trend of floating candles caught on a few years back, we haven’t seen it diminish, like so many others do. Floating candles create a serene, dreamy, romantic and enchanting ambiance to any room, and depending how you personalize and present the candles, can even pull together a modern and chic design. While almost any floating décor brings on a certain sense of magic, with their living energy of light, candles themselves bring another layer to add to the overall enchantment of your evening!
So how can you take a floating candle and turn it into something that fits perfectly into your décor? Whether your event is rustic, romantic, modern, vintage, etc., deciding on the perfect vessel to hold the water and candles and choosing just the right details to seamlessly compliment the look and feel of your décor, are the best ways to incorporate floating candles into your event. But where do you start? While there are so many routes to take, here are our five favorites!
Contemporary Vase
For a modern twist on this trend, choose a contemporary design for your candles, such as tall stem wine glasses. The right style vase can be the key to taking this look from romantic or rustic to sleek and modern. Contemporary styled vases are perfect for this modern and sleek look, and finding something totally unique can, perhaps give this trend a total makeover.
Bowl
A great choice for a classic, vintage or romantic event. A larger bowl filled with water allows the candles to float around, and sometimes you’ll even catch guests mesmerized by the movement! Add floral around the base to add color or your personal style to the design.
Cylinder Vases
Another classic look are glass cylinder vases. Mix up the heights of the vases for added dimension and levels of the candle light. This is a super clean look and is a stunning compliment to a woodsy scenery, winter wonderland or literally anything! It’s clear, clean, classic and contemporary and is also a simply beautiful piece for a “minimalist” design.
Pebble Bottom
This is where the fun can begin! Depending on your resources, you can choose to add stones, pebbles, crystals or other creative bits to the bottom of the vase. This adds even more character and charm to your design and the color might even shine through the water to create an interesting effect.
Floating Floral
One of the more exceptional and unique pieces we’ve done is submerging floral into the vase of water. If this is an idea you want to run with, make sure to ask your florist about the seasonal options you have available to complete this design! Incorporating the same floral throughout your décor can be a spectacular look for you and your guests to marvel over.
